On Dec 19, 2004 a small private plane accidentally crashed into the 750 foot KFI broadcast tower in La Mirada, CA. The tower was erected in 1947. I live and work near the tower and have always enjoyed seeing it in the sky. Whenever I'm driving home I could see the tower from miles away and know that I was nearly home. I'll miss it, and I hope that they rebuild it. More information about the history of the tower can be found at D7DB and oldradio.com.
