Arcosanti
Started in 1970, Arcosanti is an arcology experiment which is designed to research urban architecture. I remember reading about this in high school, so when I found out it was on my route I decided to stop by. I got there around 10am and ended up staying for lunch. It was neat, but not somewhere I'd want to live yet. A lot of it shows its age. The architectural drawings they had were really impressive though, they certainly have the right ideas, just not the ability to execute them yet. A lot of the concrete was actually poured into sand moulds on the ground, and then lifted into place. So that results in a strange texture which is a rustic look.
Montezuma's Castle
Montezuma's Castle is a Hopi cliff dwelling from the 1400's.
Montezuma's Well
Just north of there is another early dwelling. The "well" is a natural limestone sinkhole.
Tuzigoot
And just west of there is the Tuzigoot National Monument, another early man site.
Sedona
Sedona Arizona is where Red Rock State Park is at. The red rocks contrast starkly with the green trees.
Lowell Observatory
The Lowell Observatory is where Percival Lowell first observed the canals on mars and discovered Pluto (different nights). The site is open to tourists now, since it was a very cold and windy night the place was almost deserted. So I got some special access and was able to take a few photos that would normally be denied.

Night Shots
Some more night tests :) This time the orange glow is from the city lights reflecting off the clouds. You can clearly see Orion through them though.
