| These are from the museum. When the sites were demolished they dynamited the silo and removed the long tunnel connecting it to the stairwell and blast lock. |

OutsideThe outside of the abandoned site is heavily overgrown. The freeway even bisects the old paved road leading to the base. At the museum there's a building and parking lot right outside the inner fenced area that houses the museum. The entrance to the blast lock had been dug out by a backhoe around 2000. |

StairwellSome other photos I've seen show the stairwell intact, but unfortunately this site had it completely removed and debris thrown into it. The museum photo is from the bottom looking up. |

Blast LockThe stairwell leads to the blast lock, which are gigantic steel doors. The ones in the museum can be easily moved by hand. The room with the suits in it is where the dug out trench starts. |

Control RoomThe abandoned floor had all the consoles removed, including cabinets that covered gaping holes in the floor. One 3'x3' panel had been removed, leaving a deadly opening to the floor 20 feet below. Do *not* try exploring sites like these without proper caution, lighting, and some experience. The silver cover in the second museum photo is the main air intake, cemented closed in the abandoned silo. |

Upstairs QuartersThe museum tour does not include the crew quarters unless you're on the Top to Bottom or Beyond the Blast Door tour. The abandoned site didn't have any such rules. Upstairs there was some political rants on the walls. |

Downstairs Utilities Downstairs is also off limits on the regular museum tour. The abandoned site was missing several steps, I'm not sure if they were intentionally removed or if time had weakened them. The escape hatch looked like it may be able to be opened, but I decided not to try. |

The silo at all of the abandoned sites has been destroyed. As far as I know, no one has tried to dig up the remains to see how much is still intact.
