kallahar writes Reason is running a story about how the touted National ID Card system would be an utter failure. "As anyone who went to college in America knows, it is pathetically easy to get fake identity documents [that are] good enough". The article also points out that the Sept 11 terrorists already had valid ID's and were not (for the most part) on any "watch lists". ID cards will only catch petty criminals and political targets, not anyone who wants to get past the system.
