kallahar writes Slashdot has a great article and discussion about how the FCC is "handing over control of the broadband internet to a handful of massive corporations". In 1996 the Telecom act changed a lot of the rules about companies like this. They said it would offer better competition and that things like this would never happen. Perhaps we need to go back to a regulated monopoly? Time will tell. The original article was on Salon.
