kallahar writes New-Life has a very interesting writeup about a study conducted in the 1960's that tested how likely people were to blindly follow orders. They found that 65% of the people in the study would deliver a lethal electric shock to another person (an actor in this case) as long as the "doctor" said he would take full responsibility.
